In this photo by Bullit Marquez, a supporter pinches the cheek of Philippine presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte as he leaves the high school where he voted in his home district in Davao city. A throng of supporters and journalists waited for him in the city where he’s been mayor for 22 years. Asked how he felt about the crowd and the intense focus on him, Duterte said he was not surprised. “I am a candidate for the presidency and almost all of them are my constituents. It’s very natural for them to gravitate toward me.”
