LAS VEGAS – Brazil’s Johnny Walker needed just 36 seconds to stop Canadian light-heavyweight Misha Cirkunov in spectacular fashion Saturday on the undercard of UFC 235.

Walker (17-3-0) crumpled Cirkunov with a flying knee to the face and then finished him off with strikes for his ninth straight win.

Walker admitted he injured his shoulder in the post-fight celebration when he saluted and then fell face-first to the mat.

“If I can survive myself, I can survive anyone,” he said with a smile.

The 26-year-old Walker has won his three UFC fights in a combined two minutes 48 seconds. He stopped Justin Ledet in 15 seconds with a spinning back fist last time out.

The main event at T-Mobile Arena pitted light-heavyweight champion Jon (Bones) Jones against No. 3 Anthony (Lionheart) Smith.

Cirkunov (14-5-0) came into the bout ranked No. 14 among light-heavyweight contenders while Walker was No. 15.

The Toronto 205-pounder, who now fights out of Las Vegas, was coming off a first-round submission win over Pat Cummings in October. He had lost his two previous fights to quality opposition in Glover Teixeira and Volkan (No Time) Oezdemir.

Cirkunov, 32, is 5-3-0 in the UFC.

The six-foot-six Walker was three inches taller and had a five-inch reach advantage over the Canadian.

Cirkunov’s original opponent Ovince Saint Preux withdrew through injury.
