GRINDROD – A small community in the North Okanagan area is rallying together for victims of the Rock Creek wildfire.
The Riverfront Pub & Grill is organizing a Ride for Rock Creek to assist people affected by an aggressive wildfire east of Osoyoos in the Rock Creek area. The human-caused fire destroyed 30 homes and 15 structures, leaving many residents with little to come home to.
The Riverfront pub holds a poker run annually, and has decided to donate this year’s proceeds to the Rock Creek fire victims.
“This will be a simple and fun run and hopefully together we can all make things a bit better for the residents of Rock Creek,” the pub wrote on Facebook.
The ride is set for Sunday, Sept. 20.
