More than a decade after the body of a young Summerland man was found in a vehicle parked rural stretch of road in West Kelowna two suspects have been arrested.
On Jan. 6, 2016, Tura Stephen McCarty, 22, was found dead in a 1999 Jeep Cherokee on Bear Creek Road.
Police at the time initially called McCarty’s death suspicious and months later announced his death was being investigated as a homicide.
McCarty graduated from Summerland Secondary School in 2012.

Last week, Heather Dawn White, 33, of Kamloops and Cal Douglas Little, 60, of Abbotsford were arrested and both charged with first-degree murder.
Both White and Little remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in Kelowna court, May 14.
RCMP say McCarty was targeted and his murder was an isolated incident.
“The securing of charge approval was the culmination of more than a decade of tireless efforts,” Southeast District senior investigating officer Insp. Brent Novakoski said in a media release issued, Monday, April 20.
