Adrienne Clarkson and John Ralston Saul will be guests during a tribute to a fallen Penticton soldier.
A walkway behind the Penticton Lakeside Resort will be officially renamed to honour Capt. Jonathan Snyder, a soldier from Penticton who died at the age of 26 while serving in Afghanistan five years ago. Former governor general Adrienne Clarkson will be in attendance during the ceremony taking place June 4 at 11 a.m.
Both Clarkson and Saul will be available for a question and answer period at the Philosopher's Cafe located in the resort ballroom, beginning at 7:15 p.m. A reception will take place earlier in the evening beginning at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available for each evening event and the proceeds will go toward three projects including the Penticton Rotary Club Community Kitchen, The Raise a Reader Program and Poets Essayists Novelists International.
