Man injured, police investigate after stunt on Vancouver TV set

VANCOUVER – Police say a camera operator was hit by a vehicle in east Vancouver during filming of a television show.

Const. Brian Montague of Vancouver police says the victim was hit early Wednesday morning while shooting a stunt for a local production.

He says the 55-year-old man was accidentally hit by a stuntman driving an SUV and suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police did not identify the TV show that was involved in the incident.

WorkSafeBC says it is aware of the accident.

Its statistics for the television and film industry show there have been 236 injuries this year that were serious enough to result in at least one day of lost work, compared to 385 injuries last year.
