Risk of frost tonight in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – You may want to spend a little time today covering your tomatoes and other sensitive plants — there’s a risk of frost tonight.

Environment Canada is calling for a risk of frost tonight, Sept. 21, with temperatures expected to dip down to 3 Celsius at the Kamloops airport.

Tuesday night will be a bit warmer, with temperatures expected to only drop to 5 C and the rest of the week overnight lows are expected to remain above seasonal normals of 7 C.

During the day we can expect a high of 18 C today and then 20 C to 23 C for the rest of the week. Skies will clear today and should remain that way until Thursday when clouds and a chance of rain start to roll in later in the day.

The weather office issued a special weather statement warning about high winds yesterday and while the wind was expected to gust up to 80 kilometres per hour for a good portion of the day the high winds did not last as long as originally expected and gusts peaked at only 72 km/h.
