NICOSIA, Cyprus – Cyprus’ civil aviation chief says two people aboard a single-engine aircraft escaped injury when the nose gear on their private plane collapsed on landing at Larnaca airport on Cyprus. The accident briefly held up traffic at the airport.
Nicos Nicolaou told The Associated Press Tuesday that the private, propeller-driven aircraft was Cypriot-registered.
Airport operator Hermes said in a statement that the incident briefly held up inbound and outbound traffic until the aircraft could be moved off the runway.
The company said flights have returned to normal.
