ELECTION 2015: Mark your calendars with these upcoming all candidates forums in the North Okanagan-Shuswap

NORTH OKANAGAN – With the 2015 federal election fast approaching, there are a number of opportunities to hear your local candidates speak before heading to the polls.

There have already been debates in Vernon, Armstrong and Lumby, but if you missed them, don’t despair. Between now and general voting day Monday, Oct. 19, there are lots of all candidates forums happening around the North Okanagan-Shuswap. 

There’s the Sustainable Environment Network Society’s forum on environmental issues Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Schubert Centre at 7 p.m.

That’s followed by a forum on Friday, Sept. 25 held jointly by the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Junior Chamber International. The debate will be held at the Vernon Okanagan College campus starting at 6 p.m. in the auditorium.

On Sept. 29, Independent Living Vernon is holding a debate at the People Place starting at 6:30 p.m. The forum will focus on disability issues.

The next forum is Oct. 5 in Sicamous, where the Chamber of Commerce is holding a debate starting at 6 p.m. at the Recreation Centre.

On Oct. 6, Kiss FM is airing a live all candidates debate from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.

Sorrento is holding an all candidates debate from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the Sorrento Memorial Hall.

And on Oct. 8, there will be an all candidates debate on seniors and retired persons at the Fifth Avenue Activity Centre in Salmon Arm. The forum begins at 7 p.m.
