LOS ANGELES – “Deadpool” may be the most irreverent superhero out there, but star and producer Ryan Reynolds says the upcoming sequel is an emotional tale about how one act of kindness can change the world. Reynolds says that the story has to come first and then the comedic set-pieces should be modeled around that.
The sequel finds Deadpool up against Josh Brolin’s Cable, who takes an interest in a young boy who crosses their paths.
“Deadpool” broke box office records and shattered expectations about R-rated superhero films when it opened in February 2016.
The sequel hits theatres on May 18.
