LAKE COUNTRY – A minor fire in an extraction fan forced the evacuation of a Lake Country steel supply business today.
Crews from the Lake Country and Kelowna Fire Departments were called to the fire at A.J. Forsyth at 8955 Grigg Rd. at about 11:56 a.m., Oct. 23, according to a media release.
Firefighters found an extraction fan along with some dust collection bags were on fire.
“Power was hut off to the equipment and the fire was extinguished,” Kelowna Platoon Capt. Tim Light says in the release. “There were no injuries and no other damage to the structure.”
All the employees in the building were evacuated.
Light says the fire is not suspicious.
