3 dead, 17 injured after bus crashes in Jamaica

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Authorities in Jamaica say three people have died and another 17 have been hospitalized due to a bus crash near the island’s southeast coast.

Police said Thursday that preliminary investigations indicate that one of the bus tires likely blew out and caused the driver to lose control. The driver and two elderly women were killed. Four children are among those injured.

The accident occurred Wednesday on a highway just west of the capital of Kingston.
