Saskatchewan RCMP rule out alcohol as cause of June crash that killed six people
ELROSE, Sask. – RCMP have ruled out alcohol as a factor in the June 29 crash that killed six people near a community in southwest Saskatchewan.
A former Humboldt Broncos player and his young family from Rosetown were among the dead in the collision near Elrose.
Police say a northbound SUV with a lone driver crossed over into the southbound lane of Highway 4 and collided with a second SUV carrying five people.
Investigators say they were not able to determine the reason for the crash, but have ruled out alcohol.
Troy Gasper, 26, his wife Carissa Gasper, 28, and their three children were in one of the vehicles.
A 71-year-old woman who was driving the other vehicle was from the Swift Current, Sask., area.
