Toy poodle stolen from B.C. mall parking lot safely returned to owner

BURNABY, B.C. – Police say a toy poodle stolen from a mall parking lot in Burnaby, B.C., has been returned to its rightful owner.

Burnaby RCMP sent a tweet Tuesday with a picture of Coco, saying the pooch is home, safe and sound.

The message includes a picture of the small, cream-coloured pup lounging in the sun.

Officers were called to Lougheed Mall on Saturday for a report of a stolen dog.

The Mounties have said four-year-old Coco was snatched from a shopping cart while her owner was putting groceries in her vehicle.

Police have said surveillance footage of the incident shows a man grabbed the dog carrier with Coco inside, then sped off.
