KAMLOOPS – When the presents have been unwrapped, the eggnog has been drunk and the holidays are over, you’re going to want to toss your Christmas tree.
Remove your tinsel, decorations and miscellaneous wires or plastic and bring it to any one of 12 locations within the city.
From Dec. 27 through to Jan. 15 the city will be accepting natural trees to be recycled and used as compost in city parks. To date, Kamloops has recycled roughly 150,000 trees.
Last winter roughly 3,900 trees were recycled. The most popular drop off sites were Albert McGowan with 976 trees dropped off at the park, McArthur Island, the Yacht Club and Westsyde Park with almost 1,400 trees between them.
