‘World’s Best Father’ Dave Engledow is (gulp) writing a children’s series

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The man who has made a running gag out of being the “World’s Best Father” is applying his “skills” to a children’s book series.

Dave Engledow has a deal with HarperCollins for a three-book series, starting in May 2017 with “The Girl Who Refused to Go to Bed,” the publisher told The Associated Press on Friday.

Engledow’s Facebook page, an ongoing saga of parental ineptitude as it chronicles his raising of daughter Alice Bee, has more than 190,000 followers. Pictures such as Engledow holding his baby like a football brought him a wide Internet following and led to the release of a previous book, “Confessions of the World’s Best Father.”
