Edmonton woman charged after crystal meth, crack, found with baby in stroller

EDMONTON – Police have charged an Edmonton woman after they say they found street drugs beside her baby in a stroller.

Officers were responding to a shoplifting call involving a woman with a stroller in the downtown City Centre Mall.

They found two water bottles containing more than 100 millimetres of GHB, also known as the date rape drug, in the stroller, as well as about one ounce of crystal methamphetamine, and a small amount of crack cocaine in a baby’s lunch bag.

Police also say the woman had various drug trafficking paraphernalia, including a scale, baggies and score sheets, also called drug sales list.

The 18-month-old child was taken into care.

A 24-year-old woman is facing several drugs, including drug trafficking and theft, as well as endangering a child.

Police have not released the woman’s name.
