Shane Danyluk leads Raiders past Ice 5-3 with two goals and an assist

CRANBROOK, B.C. – Shane Danyluk scored twice and an assist Sunday in the Prince Albert Raiders’ 5-3 win over the Kootenay Ice in Western Hockey League play.

Sawyer Lange, Davis Vandane and Leon Draisaitl also scored for Prince Albert (6-0-1), while Andy Desautels made 26 saves.

Brock Montgomery had a pair of goals for Kootenay (1-4-0) and Sam Reinhart had three assists.

The Raiders’ Desautels made his first WHL start and just his second WHL appearance — two years ago he played 10 minutes in a game for Everett and had one goal against.

Last year Desautels played for Flin Flon in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League.

Mackenzie Skapski made five saves on eight shots in the first period for the Ice before being replaced by Wyatt Hoflin, who stopped 11 of 13 shots.
