Homicide detectives take over case of missing woman in Surrey, B.C.

SURREY, B.C. – Police say the body of a missing woman from Surrey, B.C., has been found and homicide detectives have taken over the case.

The family of Rajwinder Bains, who was 38, reported her missing on Jan. 23.

She was last seen leaving a TD Canada Trust bank in Surrey on the morning of Jan. 7.

Police say Bains’s body was found during the initial investigation into her disappearance

Investigators did extensive ground searches, spoke to multiple people and canvassed the area to find anyone who might have her on video surveillance.

Homicide detectives are working with the Surrey RCMP, Integrated Forensic Identification Services and the B.C. Coroners Service to gather evidence.
