Arizona Coyotes broadcaster Nick Boynton arrested after incident at Buffalo casino

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Arizona Coyotes radio analyst Nick Boynton has been placed on a leave of absence by the team after being involved in a disturbance at the casino in Buffalo while in town for Thursday night’s game against the Sabres.

Buffalo Police Department spokesman Michael DeGeorge says the 36-year-old former NHL player “is in police custody” at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo.

DeGeorge says Boynton was arrested following an overnight incident at the Buffalo Creek Casino, a few blocks from First Niagara Center, the Sabres’ home ice.

The police spokesman says charges “are being finalized at this time” but declined to give details of what happened.

Boynton joined the Coyotes’ broadcast team in July 2014 after an 11-season career as a defenceman for six teams, including Arizona.
