Calgary Flames sign Victoria Royals’ Austin Carroll to entry-level contract
CALGARY – Austin Carroll of the Western Hockey League’s Victoria Royals was signed by the Calgary Flames on Thursday.
Carroll played four seasons with the Royals in the WHL and was drafted by the Flames in the seventh round (184th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
The six-foot-four, 224-pound winger led Victoria with 38 goals, 77 points, 124 penalty minutes and a plus-23 rating over 69 games.
In 268 career WHL games he earned 95 goals and 101 assists with 470 penalty minutes.
The 20-year-old added another 12 points (8G, 4A) in 17 career WHL playoff games and he will have a chance to add to those totals in the 2014-15 WHL playoffs.
