New low cost airline routes out of Kelowna to be announced this week

KELOWNA – Specifics on the routes for a new low cost airline flying out of Kelowna and two other cities will be unveiled at Kelowna International Airport this week.

NewLeaf Travel spokesperson Bob Jones said in June that the privately-owned airline will start service from Kelowna to Hamilton and Winnipeg by the end of the summer, however the latest release does not mention the delay.

“NewLeaf will offer scheduled, nonstop flights from the company’s bases in Kelowna, Winnipeg and Hamilton to multiple domestic and international destinations. NewLeaf customers save money through low fares that are unbundled and transparent; only paying for what they want and use, with no surprises,” he said.

NewLeaf will partner with Kelowna-based Flair Airlines, which owns and operates five Boeing 737-400s, and will provide the aircraft, maintenance and crews.
