Member of N.W.T. legislature charged with assault causing bodily harm

YELLOWKNIFE – A member of the Northwest Territories legislature has been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

RCMP say Michael Nadli, who is 50, was arrested in Fort Providence.

Police say they received a call for help Sunday and responded to a home, where a person was found and sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Mounties say a suspect later turned himself in to police.

Nadli, the member for Deh Cho, was being held in custody and is to appear in court Wednesday.

Police declined to release further information.
