Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (TSX:PRE). Oil and gas. Up two cents, or 0.52 per cent, to $3.86 on 9.3 million shares.
Legacy Oil + Gas Inc. (TSX:LEG). Oil and gas. Up 15 cents, or 5.86 per cent, to $2.71 on 5.2 million shares.
MBAC Fertilizer Corp. (TSX:MBC). Fertilizer producer. Down 1.5 cents, or 15 per cent, to 8.5 cents on 4.9 million shares.
Encana Corp. (TSX:ECA). Oil and gas. Up 60 cents, or 3.76 per cent, to $16.55 on 4.2 million shares.
Ram Power, Corp. (TSX:RPG). Utilities. Down half-a-cent, or 33.33 per cent, to one cent on 3.8 million shares.
North American Palladium Ltd. (TSX:PDL). Miner. Unchanged at 5.5 cents on 3.8 million shares.
Companies reporting major news:
Canadian National Railway (TSX:CNR). Railway. Up $2.15, or 2.65 per cent, to $83.35 on 1.1 million shares. The country’s largest railway reported after markets closed that net profit increased 13 per cent to $704 million in the first quarter on $3.1 billion of revenue. That amounted to 86 cents per diluted share, compared with 75 cents per share or $623 million a year ago. Quarterly revenue was up 15 per cent from $2.7 billion in the first quarter of 2014.
Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX:RCI.B). Telecom. Up 32 cents, or 0.77 per cent, to $41.86 on 1.8 million shares. The company reported after markets closed that first-quarter net income dropped 17 per cent to $255 million from $307 million a year ago. Adjusted earnings per share totalled 53 cents, falling short of analyst estimates for 63 cents. Operating revenue rose to $3.18 billion from $3.02 billion.
