Hart believes he’ll be remembered for last game – Canada’s loss to Honduras
No matter what Stephen Hart has contributed to the game of soccer in Canada, he says fans will remember “that last game.”
A day after Hart resigned as Canada’s men’s soccer coach, he told the media the end of his tenure was “a bitter pill to swallow.”
Hart stepped down after Canada’s humiliating loss to Honduras on Tuesday that knocked the team out of World Cup qualifying.
The 52-year-old says he hasn’t received an offer to remain with the Canadian Soccer Association, but would do so if asked.
Hart’s record as coach was 20-15-10 in various stints from 2006 to 2012, ranking him second in wins and first in win percentage among Canadian coaches.
