Pedestrian struck, injured crossing Ellis Street in Kelowna

KELOWNA – A young woman was taken to hospital this morning, Jan. 25, after she was hit by a car while crossing Ellis Street.

A witness to the incident told Global Okanagan the driver was following a logging truck that was turning left off Harvey Avenue.

The witness says he almost collided with the driver himself when she cut in front of him. He says he saw the driver hit the woman, flipping the victim over before her car ended up in the oncoming lane.

The woman was taken by ambulance to Kelowna General Hospital. Her condition is not known.
