Austrian court approves extradition of IS suspect to France
VIENNA – An Austrian court has rejected an appeal by a man suspected of links to the Islamic State group team that killed 130 people in Paris in November, clearing the way for his extradition to France.
The man was identified only as a 35-year-old male from Pakistan, in keeping with Austrian confidentiality rules.
The court ruling Wednesday in the western city of Linz came affirmed a lower court decision approving a French extradition request. The suspect is to be extradited along with a 29-year-old Algerian, also suspected of connections to the IS attackers, who did not challenge the French request.
The suspects are believed to have come to Europe last year posing as refugees.
The gun-and-bomb attacks in Paris wounded hundreds of people in addition to the 130 deaths.
