Blue Bombers defence knows they have to step up to keep playoff hopes alive

WINNIPEG – Interim Blue Bombers head coach Tim Burke says the Winnipeg secondary has been too easy to read of late and the team has started to make changes to address the problem.

Winnipeg is preparing for a key matchup this Saturday against the Tiger-Cats in Hamilton.

A win can keep Winnipeg’s playoff hopes alive.

Import defensive end Rodney Fritz has been brought back and added to the practice roster to fill one hole caused by injury.

Fritz has played six games for Winnipeg in two years and Burke says he’s the kind of player they’d keep around if they had a bigger roster.
