KAMLOOPS, B.C. – Charges have been laid against a prisoner after an alleged attack on a deputy sheriff in Kamloops, B.C.
Matthew Hein, who is 27, has been charged with assaulting a peace officer and wilfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer.
The charges follow an incident in the cellblock of the Kamloops Law Courts on March 16.
A male officer who suffered head injuries has since returned to work.
Hein remains in custody on unrelated robbery and weapons allegations.
A court date to hear the latest charges has not been set. (Kamloops This Week)
