NEW YORK – Police in New York City have shot and killed a burglary suspect who they say pointed a gun at them.
It happened Monday night while police were responding to a burglary at an apartment in the Gravesend neighbourhood of Brooklyn.
Police say a New York Police Department sergeant and an officer confronted a man who was spotted fleeing the scene. Police say the man pointed a gun at the sergeant. Both officers fired their weapons, hitting the suspect twice.
A gun was recovered at the scene. Police are searching for a second suspect.
Seven adults and an infant inside the apartment were not injured.
On Sunday, officers shot and wounded a man who they say was firing a gun on a street in Brooklyn.
