Quebec corruption inquiry hearings resume under publication ban
MONTREAL – Quebec’s corruption inquiry has resumed sitting, with the entire hearings taking place under a publication ban.
The commission is drafting its final report and will hear from some witnesses who face blame and want to defend themselves.
Commission head France Charbonneau had already ruled previously their identities and statements could not be reported.
The inquiry had intended for the first 15 minutes today to be public but abruptly changed its mind without giving a reason.
Charbonneau’s final report is expected in November, one year after the inquiry completed its public hearings.
