Four-day documentary film festival starts at OKC this week

KELOWNA – One of Western Canada’s largest documentary film festivals is back in Kelowna starting this week.

Close to 30 films will be screened over four days, starting tomorrow, March 3, at the World Community Film Festival, covering topics that educate, entertain and inspire.

There will be films on environmental and social justice issues, culture and the arts filmed from around the world. There will also be baked goods, popcorn, organic and local foods, and fair trade organic coffee and apple juice for those who bring their own cups.

Childrens activities will include facepainting, poster art, mask and garden sign making.

Admission is free however donations will be accepted for the Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society and Inn From the Cold.

The event runs from Thursday until Sunday at Okanagan College on KLO Road.

The Kamloops Film Festival also kicks off March 3 and will include 20 feature films during the 20th anniversary of the festival. The Kamloops festival runs through March 12.
