KAMLOOPS – Firefighters conducted a rope rescue near a steep embankment in the North Shore neighbourhood this afternoon.
Kamloops RCMP, Kamloops Fire Rescue and paramedics attended to a man near the North Thompson River around 3 p.m. today, March 9, where they wrapped him in blankets, placed him in a sled-like board and pulled him up from the water's edge.
The man, who wasn’t wearing a shirt, appeared to be in his late 20s and was conscious at the time of the rescue.
Earlier reports said the man was pulled from the water, but a firefighter at the scene said when emergency services showed up at Schubert Drive and Juniper Avenue, the man was not in the water.
