Locals hoping to find owner of boat before it sinks into Okanagan Lake
VERNON – If you have a boat moored on Okanagan Lake in Vernon, you might want to check that it’s still afloat.
Heather and Clint Martens noticed a white and red boat sinking into the lake near Kin Beach in Vernon earlier this week.
They’re hoping that by spreading the word, the owner might be alerted before the boat sinks completely.
As of today, March 17, Heather says the boat hasn’t sunk any further but is still dipping dangerously low into the water.
“No one has rescued it,” she says.
The boat is offshore near the corner of Lakeshore Road and Okanagan Landing Road.
If you think it’s yours, you might want to bring a bailing bucket.
