RCMP arrest two young people in cold-case murder at Salmon Arm, B.C., school

SALMON ARM, B.C. – Almost four years after the body of 22-year-old Tyler Myers was found on the grounds of a Salmon Arm, B.C., elementary school, arrests have been made into his murder.

A 20-year-old male and 21-year-old female have been charged with first-degree murder.

Their names aren’t being released because they were defined as young offenders at the time of the killing.

Myers died of a gunshot wound on the school ground of Bastion Elementary on Nov. 21, 2008.

While the murder was investigated at the time, RCMP say the Unsolved Homicide Unit advanced the case to the point where they were able arrest the suspects in Salmon Arm and Vernon on Monday.

Police say that Myers knew both accused and allege the murder wasn’t a random attack.
