Mother and baby involved in Kelowna car crash

INFANT WASN’T INJURED

KELOWNA – A Kelowna woman and her 2-month-old daughter were taken to hospital following a two-car crash in the city last night.

RCMP say officers were called at 8:13 p.m., March 17, to the intersection of Gordon Drive and Guisachan Road where a Toyota Camry and Ford Escape were involved in a collision.

The 24-year-old Kelowna woman driving the Escape was westbound when she turned left into the path of the eastbound Camry, according to a RCMP media release.

The woman and her baby were transported to Kelowna General Hospital. She sustained non-life threatening injuries and the child wasn’t hurt, police say.

The 67-year-old Kelowna man driving the Camry wasn’t injured.

“There is some indication that the driver of the Escape believed that the driver of the Camry was also turning left, although no signal light was observed,” Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in the release.
