Kamloops man accounted for after Brussels airport bombing
KAMLOOPS – A local man is accounted for after the airport he was standing in was bombed this morning in Belgium.
The Islamic State terror group has already taken responsibility for two bombings at Brussels airport, along with a second metro bombing near the European Union Headquarters.
Kamloops man Jacob Adams took to social media this morning to tell family and friends he was in a different section of the airport when the blasts went off and he was not injured.
"Was in the Brussels Airport when the explosion went off, but not in the departure hall where the bombers were. All safe right now. Chaos in Brussels and Belgium,” he says in a social media post. "Will try and keep people updated on the situation. Thoughts and prayers to the victims."
Adams is a Queen’s University student currently studying abroad at the University of Antwerp.
