HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – Canada went the distance with Japan before coming away with the victory on Sunday to conclude its Volleyball Nations League weekend undefeated.
The Canadians needed five sets to beat Japan: 25-18, 26-24, 23-25, 21-25, 15-13.
Stephen Maar was top scorer for Canada with 21 points, while Nicholas Hoag had 20. Middle blocker Graham Vigrass was also a factor with 19 points, including four aces.
Canada won all three matches in Illinois, 3-1 over China on Friday and 3-1 against the host Americans Saturday.
