WOBURN, Mass. – A former assistant teacher at a Massachusetts high school has been charged with raping a disabled student while helping him use the bathroom.
Steven MacDonald pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges including rape and indecent assault and battery on a disabled person and was released on personal recognizance. MacDonald worked at Malden High School.
Authorities say the 46-year-old MacDonald was assigned to the 16-year-old boy’s classroom in September and frequently helped him use the bathroom. Police allege he assaulted the boy several times and threatened to kill the boy’s mother if he did not comply with his demands.
The boy reported it to his mother and doctors in March.
MacDonald’s lawyer says his client is a married father of two and the boy’s allegations are not credible.
