QMJHL: Matej Kaslik leads Sagueneens to 3-2 shootout win over Armada

CHICOUTIMI, Que. – Matej Kaslik scored in regulation time and again in the shootout as the Chicoutimi Sagueneens edged the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 3-2 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Thomas Bégin had the other regulation-time goal for Chicoutimi (17-18-5), while Sergei Litvinov made 27 saves and turned aside all three skaters in the shootout.

Oleksiy Myklukha and Alexis Gendron staked Blainville-Boisbriand (17-18-6) to a 2-0 lead by the 15:49 mark of the first period.

Goalie Charles-Édward Gravel stopped 34 shots for the Armada.

The Sagueneens didn’t score on their four power plays and Blainville-Boisbriand was 1 for 4 with the man advantage.

SEA DOGS 7 MOOSEHEADS 1

HALIFAX — Josh Lawrence scored twice and added two assists to power Saint John past the Mooseheads.

William Villeneuve opened the game for the Sea Dogs (23-15-4) with back-to-back goals. Ryan Francis, Brady Burns and William Dufour also found the back of the net.

Evan Boucher was the lone scorer for Halifax (24-16-2).
