NEW YORK, N.Y. – Cancer can’t stop Vivian Campbell from rocking out with Def Leppard.
His publicist confirmed Wednesday that doctors have given Campbell a treatment regimen that will allow him to avoid radiation and join his band’s tour Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama.
“So, so happy to report that I’ve dodged the bullet of radiation,” the 52-year-old posted on his Facebook page on Monday. “I was due to start a course that would have sidelined me for most of the first leg of the US tour, but my brilliant doctors have steered me towards an alternative course of treatment that will enable me to rejoin the tour.”
The 52-year-old guitarist was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2013.
Def Leppard has announced tour dates through January 2016.
