Public warned about rising stream water levels in the North Okanagan

VERNON – Residents are being warned to keep safe around creeks and streams as water levels are expected to rise in the coming days. 

The North Okanagan Regional District says the Duteau Creek water reservoirs are almost full and are expected to start spilling early next week.

“Persons living or working near creeks and streams should be aware that stream water levels may rise quickly during this time and should exercise caution around fast-moving water,” the district states in a release.
