Victim of suspected overdose identified
PENTICTON – The 24-year-old woman who died of a suspected overdose at Boonstock on Friday night has been identified as Lynn Tolocka.
Tolocka was found in distress in front of the Kalamalka Stage around 1 a.m. and was transported to Penticton Regional Hospital where she succumed to the overdose.
RCMP released the woman's age and hometown of Leduc, Alta. on Saturday but kept her name private out of respect for the family.
Tolocka's Facebook page is filled with tributes and goodbye messages from friends and family.
Tolocka, whose name was released by CTV, was not the only person to overdose at the festival this weekend — RCMP received calls of overdoses regularly over their radios and ambulances shuttled patients to and from the hospital all weekend.
On the night of Tolocka's death there were 11 other people admitted into the hospital in serious condition from overdosing on drugs.
