Penticton lawyer found guilty of misconduct by Law Society
PENTICTON – A Penticton lawyer has been found guilty of professional misconduct by the Law Society of B.C.
Charles Louis Albas was subject of a Law Society of British Columbia hearing on February 17, 2016.
At issue were eight allegations against Albas including; borrowing money from clients on two occasions, providing legal service to clients when he had a direct or indirect financial interest in the matter on two occasions, failure to disclose material facts, misleading opposing counsel, failure to disclose material facts and disclose the record concerning an application on foreclosure proceedings, and failure to notify the Law Society of three unsatisfied judgments.
Albas, who did not appear at the hearing, was found guilty of professional misconduct with respect to all eight allegations.
He now faces a disciplinary hearing to take place at a date yet to be determined.
