PEMBERTON, B.C. – Charges have been laid against a man in connection with an accident in May near Pemberton that killed two cyclists and the passenger of a vehicle.
RCMP say Samuel Alec faces a string of charges including impaired driving causing death, criminal negligence causing death and failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
The suspect is due to appear in a North Vancouver court on Monday to face the allegations.
Police said they were contacted by a witness on May 31 about a report of a car slamming into three cyclists along Highway 99 about 25 kilometres north of Pemberton.
Two of the cyclists died as did a passenger in the car.
