97-year-old man on scooter dies in crash with bus in Kelowna, B.C.

KELOWNA — A 97-year-old man from Kelowna, B.C., has died in a crash between his mobility scooter and a charter bus.

RCMP say they were called at the same time as an ambulance on Sunday afternoon.

Police say the man on the scooter was taken to hospital but died of his injuries.

No one on the bus was hurt.

The crash happened on Benvoulin Road near Rampone Road.

Police say a collision expert was called in to help with the investigation, although criminality or impairment are not believed to be factors in the crash.
