TUCSON, Ariz. – Will Lockwood scored the lone goal for the Abbotsford Canucks in a 4-1 AHL loss to the Tucson Roadrunners on Friday.
Lockwood backhanded the puck for his second goal of the season past a diving Ivan Prosvetov just over a minute into the game. But the Roadrunners (6-6-1-0) roared back with four unanswered goals.
Michael Carcone scored his first of two goals on the night to tie it up at 8:05 of the first period. Hudson Elynuik put Tucson ahead two minutes later. Matias Maccelli also scored for the Roadrunners.
Michael DiPietro stopped 35 of the 39 shots he faced in the loss.
The Canucks (4-5-2-1) don’t have to wait long to take another run at the Roadrunners. They play in Tucson again on Saturday.
