Silver Star set to host Summer Wine and Food Festival

VERNON – Vernon’s Silver Star Mountain Resort will host the fourth annual Summer Wine and Food Festival later this summer.

Thirty Okanagan wineries will be featured at this three-day festival, Aug. 12 to 14, organized by the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society. Over the weekend, attendees can take in olive oil seminars, 'Know Your Farmer 'cooking demos, winemasters’ dinners and unique café and wine pairings by Starbucks Canada.

The Volcanic Hills Winemaster Dinner with a five-course meal with wine pairings is scheduled for Aug. 12.

The Mile High Wine and Music event is on Aug. 13. Live bands will play country and bluegrass during a wine tasting. Following the outdoor event is a five-course gastro wine dinner.

Wrap up the festival with brunch at the Red Antler restaurant on Aug. 14.

In between events, guests can take part in biking, hiking, wildflower tours and the newly introduced summer tubing.
