SURREY, B.C. – Police say a firearm related to an incident at a border crossing in Surrey, B.C., has been recovered.
The RCMP received reports Tuesday afternoon that a vehicle failed to stop while heading into Canada from the U.S. at the Pacific Highway crossing.
The Mounties have said the suspect allegedly had a firearm.
Police followed the vehicle into south Surrey until it turned and headed back toward the same border crossing.
It was stopped on the U.S. side and officials there took an American citizen into custody.
The RCMP are leading an investigation into what happened, with help from the Canada Border Services agency and U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
