NHL talks to resume Tuesday in New York City without key negotiators

The NHL’s collective bargaining talks will resume without the key negotiators in the room.

A handful of owners and players will meet Tuesday afternoon in New York City.

Commissioner Gary Bettman proposed the meeting late last week and the NHL Players’ Association accepted it on Sunday.

Both he and NHLPA executive director won’t be present for the session.

The NHL lockout is into its 12th week and has resulted in the cancellation of all games through Dec. 14.
